Random News at the W's

Alright, are you sick of reading about how much I hate Martha Stewart? Me too. And just to clarify, I don't actually hate her. I just hate that she's so good at what she does and I'm not. Now that we've got that out of the way, here are some random goings-on at our house lately.

-The Christmas Tree is finally up! Usually we get it done the day after Thanksgiving, but not this year. This year I was in charge of a ward party that took place last Friday. Until that was over, everything else got put on hold. Thankfully Dustin and Monica got us off to a good start by putting the tree up for us last Saturday, then we decorated it this week.

-We have snow and a lot of cold! We've been on the negative side of the temperature chart these last few days. Aaron keeps asking why we don't live in Arizona this time of year. That is a good question.

-Maddie's preschool ended the first week of December. Now we're wandering around wondering what to do with her. She sure has a lot of energy and no where to put it. Guess I better get working on that.

-Parks has started reading simple books in Kindergarten. I'm glad he's learning how to read, but there's only so much "I am Sam. See Sam. See Nan." I can take before I want to poke my eyeballs (or eardrums) out.

-Speaking of Parks, he is one little arteest. He wakes up in the morning (usually at 6) and immediately starts creating or drawing something. My mom said I should just take pictures of some of his art, then I don't have to keep it all around the house. Well you asked for it mom. Here's what Parks has created in just the last couple of days:

The whole dang herd of reindeer and Santa's sleigh:
Stuffed animal portraits (there is a whole series of these):

And more Christmas cheer:

If this trend keeps up, I'll have to buy a bigger memory card.

So there ya have it, some random news from the W's.
