3.1 miles + 6.2 miles = 9.3 miles
9.3 miles is surprisingly close to 10 miles. It just so happens, that's how today's 10 mile race played out. It was a combination of the first killer 5K (3.1 miles) and the next horrendous 10K (6.2 miles) plus a few extra hills just for fun. It was a party, let me tell ya. I really should be positive and say that I love running and how good it makes me feel and all that other stuff. But really, what it comes down to is that if I hadn't already paid my entry fee, I probably wouldn't have run this race. I'm fighting a cold and the remains of the dog bite, so I wasn't entirely thrilled about running a hard race.
However, it actually seemed a little easier today because I knew what to expect. I expected the worst, and then it really wasn't as bad as I imagined. Yes I walked up almost every hill, but I tried to run all the other parts. I ran solo today, so I probably didn't push myself as hard as I could have. I tried to just enjoy it and to feel good about running 10 miles. All in all, it wasn't so bad. And I didn't finish last. Even if I wasn't the fastest, I still finished. And to me, that's an accomplishment.
Here's the elevation profile of this race. Nearly 1900 ft. of elevation change in 10 miles. What fun.

I am so proud of you for running and finishing all your races even when your not feeling great. You are an inspiration to all of us for everything you do on top of the running. Time with you, Parks and Maddie was golden.
Go Megan!!
Finishing is the greatest accomplishment. I was so bummed after my 1/2 thinking I let myself down, but after all of the things factored into the race, I'm just glad I finished.

Go Meagan. You are awesome, I'm running my first 5k this weekend and I am scared to death. I don't know what to expect.
