Thursday Thought

Like many women, I loved hearing President Uchtdorf's talk at the last General Relief Society Meeting in October 2008. I think what he said spoke to my heart and a video clip of his talk (see below) which is also on the Relief Society website is truly inspiring.

I think as women, we often struggle to feel adequate and to find joy in life. According to President Uchtdorf, one of the greatest ways we can feel better about ourselves is to create and to show compassion to others. He says:

I believe that as you immerse yourselves in the work of our Father—as you create beauty and as you are compassionate to others—God will encircle you in the arms of His love.15 Discouragement, inadequacy, and weariness will give way to a life of meaning, grace, and fulfillment.

As spirit daughters of our Heavenly Father, happiness is your heritage.

You are choice daughters of our Heavenly Father, and through the things you create and by your compassionate service, you are a great power for good. You will make the world a better place. Lift up your chin; walk tall. God loves you.
