O Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree went up the day after Thanksgiving. The kids were SO anxious to decorate for Christmas, they would have done it the day after Halloween if I let them. This summer I found a Christmas tree at a garage sale, so we pulled it out, only to discover that it was 9 feet tall! So we weren't able to put it in the usual spot by the window. Instead we had to rearrange the entire living room to get it to fit.
All growing up we had real Christmas trees and I've come to associate the smell of pine trees as one of the best Christmas smells. So when we got a home of our own, I wanted a real tree, and Aaron really didn't care, although he always had fake trees growing up. So we did the real tree route for awhile until I did a cost-benefit analysis of real vs. fake trees. So then we went with fake for a few years. But then last year, I decided I just had to have that real tree smell. Luckily there is a Christmas tree lot that sells $5 trees. So for the past 2 years, we've had one fake tree, and one skimpy real tree. It's not the prettiest thing, but at least it smells good. Here it is in all its glory.
And now you know more than you ever wanted to about Christmas trees at our house. The end.

They both look lovely, and the kids love them, it doesn't matter what we think. Our tree is very tall too, and has no decorations on the upper 3 feet, cause I can't reach them, and I'm being a wimp and won't climb the latter to decorate it. Not to mention no star on the top. Oh well, E can't even see that high anyway. :) Christmas is just too much fun.
