Running Tag

First of all, I really need to put a disclaimer on this post. I really am not a runner- I just pretend to be one. Especially lately with the whole shoe business. I got some of those shoe inserts that you put in the oven, then put in your shoes, then they mold to your foot. Yeah, they didn't really work. Well, they did, but they don't go to the edge of my shoe, so the outside of my foot feels like it's clinging onto the edge of my insert for dear life. Anyway, maybe one day I'll get real running shoes and one day I'll become a real runner. Until then, thanks for the tag Meemer. Here we go:

1. How would you describe your running 10 years ago? About this time 10 years ago, I started running up hills near USU to try and get in shape. I was walking onto the gymnastics team and figured it would be a good idea to at least be able to run down the vault runway. Even after a few months running, I was in sorry shape after that first week of training at the gym. Those gymnasts are maniacs. After that week, my running career ended. I'm a wimp.

2. What is your best and worst run/race experience? I guess my first ever 5k was both my best and worst experience. It was the best because I actually proved to myself that I could run 3 miles. It was a milestone for me. It was the worst because I pretty much finished last. Not much of a self-esteem booster.

3. Why do you run? A few reasons. To get in shape. To try and prevent MS from getting the best of me. And to actually feel like I'm accomplishing something. It's also a nice excuse to get out of the house every once in awhile.

4. What is the best or worst piece of advice you've been given about running? The best: to take it slow. It's hard for me to take it easy and not push myself too hard or too fast.

5. Tell us something surprising about yourself that not many people would know.
Um. Er. I really can't think of anything. If I do, I'll come back to this.
